Americans have this wrong assumption that the world fw superhero movies. We dont. The Avengers era was a special time but it didn’t cultivate a long lasting audience. If its not Spider Man yall might as well keep it
The avengers era is an example of cultivating an audience tho lol. Marvels slip ups after lost Americans too, and it’s just been this year where overseas has truly fallen more than usual. One thing I think didn’t help this year tho was how closely tied to the U.S. or U.S. government themes each CBM was.
Spider Man and other established franchises will likely be fine cus they already cultivated the audience the last 10 years. That’s not really the concern imo. Like Deadpool was only last year and did $1.3B comfortably
What's gonna happen when MCU X-Men doesn't even make 600 million
We smoking on that Feige pack.

Dawn of the superhero era, same as it happened with westerns
They hired Pedro Pascal as the lead mainly to avoid this and they found out that star power doesn’t translate to the theaters
Damn @Brave
https://twitter.com/Luiz_Fernando_J/status/1952446547267924479It’s sadly not surprising. It’s a good enough movie that just doesn’t feel complete or satisfying and doesn’t have that blockbuster buildup and payoff to it
$70m is insane. Beats Sinners for the highest global opening for an original film this decade. Highest since Us, I believe.
Yeah man I feel like Doomsday wont make it past a billi at this point. Superhero flicks are starting to go back to their audience core as mainstream audiences lean more towards original s*** again

It’ll break a billi
RDJ is a factor there
Now 2 billi? 1.5? Those are definitely in question
I will say, once Secret Wars drops I think Marvel shouldn’t put anything out til 2030
Reboot at the top of a new decade. Run that year with X-Men, Fantastic Four 2 or Black Panther 3, and Spider-Man 5
3 Foundational titles to carry Marvel forward into the new age they would embark on.
All this and WB will still complain about being broke, f*** over creatives and ice out a ton of legacy content.
Love it here
