Guys like Teague and Semi make the bench units unwatchable

Kemba is also mid as hell

If tatum or brown aren't on the floor together I honestly have very little interest and this is really the first year I’ve felt like that. After the Jays and Smart it feels like no one cares

  • Feb 3, 2021

    TT playin well this game

  • If Jerami Grant hits the market we should get on that asap

My explanation for the reason the bench hasn't been improved during the past couple of years consists of the tragedy of the 18-19 season. We had one of the most stacked teams of Celtics history. Yeah I said it. Our bench guys are Charlotte's superstars right now lmao. Team was overboard on talent, and that's the reason (at least they though) it self imploded. The whole, nobody knows their role and "I need more touches" thing led to crazy locker room tension nobody could fix and eventually everyone hating each other, Kyrie leading the pack. That s*** really had Brad and Danny traumatized. Heard some crazy stories about just how bad that year was internally. They then thought they could fix it in 19-20, if other than Irving leaving, the Celtics had bench players that KNEW their role (how inferior in talent they were). They went too deep on that, and left the team with a bunch of janitors as their go-to bench guys, just to prevent any role confusion. And they still haven't moved on from that strategy

we don’t do anything well, just all around mediocrity. mediocre from 3, from inside, defensively, record, etc. kemba is cooked, can’t get by anyone anymore. we got JT JB and a bunch of plumbers

top 10 in both defense and offense.

Kemba slander gotta end. Dude just clamped Steph the whole 2nd half.

    Krillin

top 10 in both defense and offense.

9th on offense 12th on defense

last years team was top 5 on both ends

  • Feb 3, 2021

Kemba has the ball for way too long in the clutch right now. He shouldn't even touch it in some of these possessions, JT and JB looking more passive than I would hope when he has it too. Giving me flashbacks of old Kyrie

brad will be the first one to tell you these stats are misleading lol

I been hating on Jeff Teague the minute we signed him and I'll continue to do so.

That man needs to find a different job.

not enough nba caliber is our entire problem...

tatum, brown, kemba, theis, smart, (reliable starters)

tristan, rob will, PP, (reliable bench)

semi, langford, grant, green, edwards, teague ( use only in limited to very limited minutes)

    tacko, waters, (not nba players)

    and i'm being generous.

You’re 100% right. Having guys like Mook, Rozier, and Hayward coming off the bench was too much for Brad to handle and it turned into a disaster. We need some sort of middle ground though. NBA benches work best with a true star 6th man volume shooter coming off the bench, like Goran Dragic, Terrence Ross, Caris Levert etc. I’d love Buddy Hield personally. No matter what we do, getting a guy that can hold down the bench and make shots when the offense goes stagnant should be our #1 priority

He definitely does but like Cola said the last time we had a stacked roster it ended up falling apart. Now that we know the Jays are franchise centerpieces and no longer just “young stars”, we need to be extremely aggressive at the deadline to get guys that complement them

Tatum, Brown - Championship level players

Smart, Kemba, Theis - Can't be starters on a championship team but clearly nba players.

Rob Will, Pritchard - role players

semi, grant, green - too unreliable to fill a consistent role. they would need to be higher volume good 3 point shooters. thus, they serve no purpose in the long run

langford - ???? his shot is broken but hes barely ever played

waters, edwards, teague, tacko - not nba players.

    tristan - washed up.

Id argue that smart is definitely starter quality, but the rest of this is dead on

I wish instead of giving up on the center position since 2012 Danny would give up on the PG position instead

Just give me some buffoon that plays defense and can catch and shoot. We don’t need 25 ppg scorers that are useless when they’re shots not falling with the emergence of the Jay’s

Smart is a starting quality but idk on a championship team. chucks too much, still not a consistent 36-38% 3 point shooter or finisher.

That team still had huge holes in rebounding and rim protection. It wasn’t built that good, just a collection of good scorers

  • Feb 3, 2021

Why is our end of game offense so bad? It’s been f***ing awful since the ECF last year. Every close game down the stretch we constantly go minutes without scoring field goals and blow double digit leads. They legit resort to Kemba or JT ISOs and everything is so stagnant. It’s like everyone forgets how to play basketball lol. Brad should start to run some plays and other actions

all those guys could start on a title team, that just depends on the rest of the lineup.
