Bobby Portis waving bye to the crowd game 5 last year. Down but not out
At least that game 5 was close and we were supposed to win that one if we could rebound a bricked FT
Can always fire him
They aren’t paying him and another coach for four years.

We can't possibly shoot this bad again
I don't care what happens in game 6 because i've seen all I need to see. this team will not win a title with Joe at coach. He is a f***ing zombie out there. He was straight guessing on these adjustments.
If we lose this series and this team is shaken up in the off season losing game four will forever haunt us.
Fr he is generational at f***ing ( his employees and this team)
We still dont really know what he did and whatever it is wasnt bad enough to keep the rockets from hiring him

At this point you keep rolling the dice with interim coaches lmao

It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Brad lands back at coach. He makes a lot more than most GMs and a new GM is cheaper than a new coach.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Zarren ends up promoted to GM and Brad goes back to coaching.

We can dream but i think hes made it pretty clear hes not coaching again
Brad wasnt perfect but i cant help but think we win this series easily with him
I can still see us winning in seven
We could, we were nearly up 3-1 but I don’t see us beating Heat.

Idk, I think he will coach again if called upon.
The whole bs of “stepping up” to GM (especially when the brain trust is still really in Zarren) was better for both him (optics of “not getting fired”) and for the team (not have to fire him and pay him for five years alongside new coach, and also not have to pay a new GM). Pretty clear from Ainge taking over in Utah that they were both fired.
I think if we don’t make finals this year a roster shake up will happen and if that happens then the whole “roster tuned out Brad” factor might become irrelevant.
The fact is, the talent is there, the coaching is not.
We were two shots away from sweeping this series.

The coaching isnt the only problem but its definitely a needed conversation. Our core clearly has some mentality/intensity issues, but its not like were going to get anyone better at this point so we just have to find the right coach. Sucks that were wasting these guys prime years with 3 different coaches. I’d still say it’s unlikely but maybe Brad could give it one last go before blowing it all up
It’s hard to fire a guy who they just extended though. Just have to hope he learns from this. The more likely scenario is that they move on from one or two pieces of this core. Its going to suck, but thats probably going to be Smart. With Horford looking damn near on the brink of retirement, i could see him being moved for another big with White, Brogdon, and Pritchard becoming the new guard rotation
Joe Mazzulla

This was not very title contender of us...
We are as hot as we are cold. That's our weakness. So that means we're not going to cake walk to the ECF, let around 2nd round. Every game counts.
I've seen it and said it before. We are 3s or bust. And it's f***ing us.
time to admit jimmy butler better than tatum
Idk, depends on how you consider better
Tatum is the more talented player but butler clearly wants it more and is elevating his teammates

Tatum is supposed to be the more talented player but he shoots like 30% on pull up jumpers, Butler elevates every postseason and Tatum stays mired in inconsistency
I wanna know wtf has happened to tatum’s jumper, he used to hit way more a couple years ago it feels like. I’m at the point where I expect a brick every time he takes a 3

I blame the coaches that drilled it into his head that he’s only allowed to shoot 3s and layups. He’s a natural 3 level scorer and they convinced him that the mid range is untouchable, and now he shoots like 12 3s a game
Mazzullas whole philosophy being “3>2” isnt helping that either. Shooting 50 3s is cool when youre making half of them but when you’re not it just allows a good rebounding team to kill you in transition
The a***ytics around the 3 pointer in the modern NBA are pretty stupid in my opinion. Theres no worse feeling than dying by the 3, and it happens constantly to teams in the playoffs. Guys like Booker, Butler, Embiid, etc have showed that the mid range is still important in the playoffs 🤷🏼♂️
