something that is even life-changing and your reasoning
What's your reasoning?

This probably gonna be required reading in high schools in some s***hole like Oklahoma, together with the Bible and Jordan Peterson.
asks u to question status quo in favor of more imaginative solutions.
pro-sustainability and a critique of exploitative relationships.
helpful for identifying love and abuse that doubles as sociopolitics 101.
genuinely classic novella, doubt kids got much attention span so something that builds that would be great so stuff like Mice and Men or Benito Cereno

that's a good point lol. school makes a lot of kids hate books which is a shame
idk if it's because it's mandatory or the teachers force students to dissect the books and write essays about it, but reading any book on your own is much more rewarding than reading it for school

The dissecting part is so annoying because it's so brutal to comb through each paragraph or page. There has to be a better way to a***yze a book with a class already disengaged with reading.

identifying generational trauma and internalized hatred
Got thirty pages left in Song of Solomon
Extremely, extremely overdue but it's my first Toni Morrison novel and I already want to reread it
Can't wait to read this eventually

Damn didn't know I've been ghost, thanks for the love
Haven't been on here as much as I want to be because my phone battery is completely cooler but I'm still here daily, just post in a lot of smaller/quieter threads
And please pick up Song of Solomon off of your shelf as soon as you can
I haven't been able to read for the last ten years due to health issues and material strife that's put me in many life threatening situations but I've been trying to change that for the last two years esp since last July when I finally was able to solve my persistent housing issues
But nothing was able to stick
Picked up Song of Solomon last Monday and I couldn't put it down, extremely thankful for this book and for it allowing me to revive my relationship with reading

that’s real af i’m really happy that you’re able to find enough stability in your life to be able to pick up a book…it’s really one of life’s greatest pleasures that is severely taken for granted nowadays.

Thank you so much
Still some major difficulties ahead of me but things are very much looking up right now
Yeah, books have some many incredible, empowering gifts that I wish everyone was reading as much as possible
