As ill fitting and misused as that term nearly always is, he is much closer to a Nazi than anyone in American politics going off this

So then how is his support among indigenous groups? You can't say all backgrounds when indigenous peoples are accusing him of genocide

    Some like him, some don't

Nobody is going to steal the colors of Brazil. That green and yellow are not mine, they are not Bolsonaro's, they are not Lula's. The green and yellow are from Brazil, they belongs to Brazilians.

They are from the Brazil of the Amazon and Christ the Redeemer, the northeastern hinterland, the coffee plantations of Minas, the pampas and the Paulista Avenue. Brazil from the south, from the north, from the midwest.

Brazil that needs to return to the CENTER. Because this war from one side against the other, this Brazil of "us against them", this is a small Brazil. A Brazil that pits father against son, that pits family against family. It's like a Brazil of Pelé against Garrincha... A Brazil that puts dreams against dreams and leaves everyone living in a sad reality.

In today's Brazil, the best way to celebrate Independence Day is to be independent. Because we don't need to think all the same to be all the same Brazil. Just accept, respect and talk our differences. Just see in Chico Buarque and Sérgio Reis two musical beauties and not just two political choices. Just remember that we, like them, are all Brazilians. And that our children and grandchildren will continue to be Brazilians and deserve to live in a better country than the one we are living in.

It's time for us to return to the colors of Brazil. And resuming the hope of Brazilians to build a new country. The country we want and deserve. The Brazil that we can be. Independent, diverse, strong, fair, happy and at PEACE.

    Cringe

He basically said “Both sides are wrong. I know Brazilian geography. Remember Pele? Let’s all have a good time and not be too invested in any of our supposed values.”

At the same time though its healthy cringe — poltics brain is deadly

If simple people (majority of humans) like that good on them

    Godspeed

  • I think bolsonaro is a trickster who took advantage of a whole situation and got people rooting for him cause he kissed the ass of that judge who convicted lula. Then his corrupt ass gets caught cause his son is an idiot and now he is trying to hang on by a thread. Here he is just taking advantage of the Brazil independence day to play with peoples emotions. He aint even a right wing capitalist he is a bureaucrat fascist.
