op banned from kino sxn
You know what it means bruh you just being obtuse
I know what you mean, I don’t get how you mean it. If you’re trying to make the argument that it has aged poorly you can make the same argument for almost every other film that came before it.
And if anything, the opposite of what you said is true. Its reputation has only grown over time.

"almost" is the key word here
a all time classic

You got to see it in 3D @op it’ll add another dimension to your viewing experience
easily lynch's best movie IMO
i love it for so many reasons, but one thing that sticks with me is how easily digestible its themes are
like in mulholland drive, i can see there's a lot going on, but its tough to figure out
but blue velvet, it's all right there, it just feels extremely legible what he's trying to say, i think it's one of the clearest, most direct films i've ever seen in communicating its themes, but it doesn't bash you over the head with them. its just done so well that the subtext becomes the text.
i also think the "in dreams" scene, and the flip of that innocent love song's meaning into this nightmarish vision of total and utter control/domination that frank booth reads it as, is one of the deftest and most genius things i've ever seen in a movie
HEINEKEN, F*** THAT S***, PABST! BLUE! RIBBON!
This thread inspired me to rewatch it again this weekend.
Just say it’s not for you. I’m a big Lynch fan and I’m certainly not as high on it as others. It’s still an admirable film.
I listen to Mysteries of Love like 50% of the nights the last ten years when I go to sleep
so make of that what you will
I liked it but not as much as I’d hoped.
