ktt be like here’s my top 5 favorite albums
1. blonde
2. the beatles
3. chief keef
4. charli xcx
5. lorde
You saying it’s not close song for song?
Not even close
and I'm nigerian so I'm supposed to be biased
A lot of us were like 15-18 and it was the best album from then and th hoes cosigned it
THIS is the best take on here
you can flex your “superior” music taste on niggas on forums, and impress basic b****es.
that power alone makes blonde most niggas their favorite album of all time lol
blonde is brazy how TF we got Nikes Solo Pink + White Nights Self Control Ivy Seigfried Godspeed all on the same album
looks like we’re still 5 years behind having substantial discourse on this album that goes beyond “greatest record of all time” and “overrated”
at least we can all agree it’s good and no one itt being too corny ab this.
ktt will say blonde is bad because its for teen simps and then say the best albums of the 2010’s were s*** like views, astroworld, barter 6, slime season 3, and die lit
also @Aftermathbws is right in saying, black messiah is the better album of the 2010’s.
one thing frank does that d’angelo doesn’t ?
define the era. d’angelo albums are a masterclass in music, he’s one of the few that are on that authentic “prince” level.
but frank breaks cultural boundaries in ways few artists can. he really does help define the minimalist, lonely, isolated moment we’re in, especially as young people.
for this alone i’ll always understand why people return to blonde more frequently. but imo black messiah is the best album of the 2010’s.
MBDTF and Blonde tied for 2nd place
Big f***ing facts g
I like it but I don't think it's one of the greatest albums of all time or even one of the greatest albums from the 2010s
there are at least like 15 albums that came out last year that are all better than blonde imo

Here’s your quote
.Paak dropped two better albums in the same year
Listen to the vocal mix on ivy jc.. it’s goes back and forth from right inside your skull to a reverb like a small wooden room for most of the song, then on that last “it’s alriiight to hate meee now” it opens up like the whole room just became a canyon. Real quick it shrinks back up until he shouts “good” and your mind opens up into a canyon again.
And the whole album is just little things like that, designed precisely to cut you open and make you feel it for real.

Doing the lords work 🙏
I honestly don’t think it’s THE greatest album but it’s up there. I heard it the day it came out and loved it and fell out of love when all the basic urban outfitter bandwagoners hopped on. But this album is really up there

Ivy one of the most relatable songs for me man.
U right too, all the little details make the song and the album itself so amazing
Ivy couldve been a simple beautiful guitar ballad but he made it unique and took it to the next level with his ear for detail

That one line in Ivy
You know which one
That’s the best representation of being in love ever put in a song

Quick, you still have time to delete this

I don't want people to listen to those albums and compare them to one of their favorites/treat it like a competition because that could negatively affect their opinion (they could go in wanting to dislike them)
but here's my top 10 from last year and I enjoy all of them more than Blonde
I can post 5 more if u really want me 2
