We Hebrew. Not Black, Not African. There are “African” tribes that say they aren’t Hebrew. They did skull testing and CONCLUDED the negro skull is nowhere related to the African skull. This was even declared a fact in 3500bc. Wake tf up to whom U are people. We’re gods on earth.

Sure, we were picked up in west Africa, Europe and some of us were already here in the Western Hemisphere. Yet. Look up the Hebrew tribes of Africa. Lemba, Igbo, Eboo, Juda, Gad, Abudayah, etc many BANTU tribes are indeed Hebrew. They themselves have traced their DNA back to Israel. This is facts fam

It said something about The Igbo claiming to be the descendants of one of the lost tribes so you are correct.

Because of how black hair is viewed by society in large, black women taught to hate their hair from a young age.

Black women lose jobs, get humiliated at school & harassed for their hair.

Stupid post. Assimilation for survival isn't self hate.

    Not what I meant
I was trying to ask why some women treat their natural hair as if it’s some sort of disgusting entity.

Black women been told both directly and indirectly our hair is dirty, ugly, undesirable, unproffesional and masculine so to make it in in a society that tells you those things many adapted and changed the structure of their hair chemically, by straightening, or the least damaging way of all: wearing weaves/wigs.

Nowadays black women are actually embracing their hair and finding new ways to care for it. Wearing wigs aka what you called horse hair is actually a protective style to many women as it provides versatility and protection at the same time. Doesn't always have to do with being proud or not. Besides that it's not just a black woman thing anymore as with nearly everything else that becomes mainstream.

    Hope that helped

What the other said. On another note, there are so many different things we can do with our hair. Endless possibilities & it allows us to be creative when we do our own hair. I'm not going to limit my hairstyles to my natural hair and I'm also not going to damage my natural hair by trying to recreate styles done with weave on my own hair.

I keep braids & twists in my hair too because I see them as a representation of my culture. Unless someone actually thinks their hair is ugly due to its kinky nature you can't assume a black woman hates her hair due to weave or extensions.

i currently live in a predominant white area. im growing my hair out. i get looks and stares. took my braids out a few days ago. went into work and my coworker says that in nursing school they might ask me to cut my hair because its "unprofessional". I see white male nurses with long hair all time. all these girls dye their hair blonde, green, purple, black, etc.

But let a black man grow some dreads and suddenly it's a problem 🙄

such a s***ty double standard. hopefully more states apply these laws in the near future. i know new york was the first to do it and that was about 2 years ago.

goes back to what was discussed on page 4 regarding the dynamic of the types of styles deemed as "professional" in the workplace. some people also use it as a protective style as well
