This is complete cap. If you are a recent immigrant to any country your still raised in the culture of your native land. Your cuisine, the language your parents speak, their stories and values. Its a whole different mentality then an FBA

That’s not what Valentine is saying bro. You getting defensive

How is a kid who’s never been to or lived in Africa but raised in an African household but feels more connected to the black experience in America, as again, they have only ever visited Africa and only know of it through their parents, but all their friends, culture within themselves, and daily walk in life is that of a black American, how are they any different just cause they were born to African parents yet raised in USA? Are they not also a black American? just with African lineage that’s easier to trace? I just had an argument with my parents over this last night, it’s not cap. that group exists and the separation is so nuanced and pointless if you start having the conversation as to why they can’t claim either side lol

This developing discussion exposes the fallacy of FBA.

Like Jamaica’s attribute of acceptance of everybody is the reason why you’d never tell an asian-jamaican (its a lot of em) who literally grew up there, speak the patois, etc. even though they was technically raised in an Asian household, would you automatically take away their Jamaican identity irregardless?

I'm Latino and I've never heard about "FBA". I'm also not on TikTok or social media much. I've been reading the thread and I'm just trying to inform myself. It seems like the "FBA" is a group of black Americans who discriminate native Africans due to their family lineage not being erased? Is that correct?

Wouldn’t the Asian Jamaican be more comparable to the black American though?

Asian/indian Jamaicans weren’t there for 1-2 generations. They were there for centuries probably. Similar to African Americans and the United States

What I’m arguing is that doesnt make them any less Asian/Indian than it makes them any more Jamaican.

The existence of African countries offering citizenship to Africa Americans is proof that my line of thinking aint a rarity,

But as an African American how do you know which country you come from unless you do a dna test?

Most of us just know we’re west African descent and that’s the extent of it

  • Feb 10

Afrolatinos gon’ always get love from me cause they deal with that “between a rock and a hard place” s*** a LOT.

Considering I’ve seen more anti-blackness from hispanics than Africans, it’s a double whammy just being in an environment where you gotta hear that s***.

One of the homie’s aunt in nyc they whole fam Garifuna. She fluent. She getting her nails done and overhears 2 of the staff talking wild s*** bout her. Tells them in spanish she can hear them and them hoes went mute.

That has to be an exhausting ordeal to go through. Not black enough for the niggas and not hispanic enough for the hispanics

I've been doing some googling and researching since reading this thread and based on what I've read it seems like this is legit just a psyop bro. I say this as a Latino American whose first generation we have also seen a lot of Latinos and Latino Americans discriminate against undocumented Latino immigrants because they've been whitewashed or assimilated

I genuinely think the CIA is working overtime to divide people no mater what rn. From religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, social status, education etc. They know we are easier to manipulate and control when we are divided.

We can't let this facist authoritarian government win. We have to set aside our differences and realize America is not only more than just the US but it's a nation of immigrants of all over the world. The common enemy here is white supremacy. They know they're the minority. Not us. We must not be divided. Now more than ever we must come together and fight together.

Movements like these are completely devoid of any principaled theory that's going to aid black Americans in their struggle.

Go back and look at what MLK, Malcom, Kwame Ture, Fred Hampton, Claudua Jones, Amiri Baraka or Vicki Garvin stood for. There's a reason the U.S government actually tried to stop those people.

FBA is just more diaspora war stuff repacked and sold as resistance. Even if you Google FBA the biggest page is selling t shirts and hats.

Never heard of this Tariq dude but I just looked up his Wikipedia

Nasheed is known for his use of the term "bed wench" and the related term "Negro bed wench mentality".7 He uses the term to refer to black women who date interracially. He revived and popularized use of this term, which historically was used to disparage black women who were raped by their masters during slavery.

    ...

According to Refinery29, Nasheed "is notorious for his misogynistic, queerphobic, xenophobic and often ahistorical commentary on Blackness in America."23 Stephen Kearse in The New York Times Magazine refers to Nasheed as a "conspiracy buff".24

    ...

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nasheed was highly vocal about his distrust of the COVID-19 vaccine. He opined that, "they are using yet another Black, non-FBA doctor to do the #CovidVaccine experiment on today...Notice no one has given a scientific reason as to why we are only seeing Black people injected with this new vaccine"

    ...

Yeah ngl not sure why anyone would listen to this f***ing idiot. Then again we have seen how easy it is to manipulate uninformed people through misinformation and prejudice on social media

Just copying my post from the other thread

"The concept behind FBA/ADOS and establishing a well defined cultural identity should be encouraged. Like African American or Black as a moniker can be confusing for several reasons and defining a unique ethnic group by their race doesn't make any sense.

But the problem with the FBA/ADOS groups is that their ethos are extremely xenophobic and use a lot of white supremacist talking points and comes from the perspective that their ancestors were never African at all which also doesn't make sense.

But yes there should be a new moniker. Feel like its particularly challenging because America is like a blackhole when it comes to cultural identity, which is why it was easier for Caribbean countries to do it"

in reality this is all fueled by white people on twitter starting diaspora wars

i also think the black women/men gender wars were also a psyop keeping it a buck

Been saying this s*** for years lol. It was always something funny how the only race based gender war posts you would see are from black people and barely any other racial or ethnic group has their own counterpart to this.

Got so bad, with how viral they would get, you had white people liking and retweeting posts s***ting on black men/black women

We came from the same boat, some of us had to just get out a stop or 2 earlier, or were moved by the the dutch and the french rather than the brits

There's something rly weird about how black people are perceived to embody gender in the eyes of cacs

You got the classic white boy acting like whatever archetype of black guy is in style for his age, the white gay dude acting like black women, white lesbians acting like Jadakiss

They get into it so much they lose the plot and forget they're cacs
