great casting. he's going to own this role.. Googler, Denzel, Davis, shooting on film and I bet they have a few more big names to cast... easily my most anticipated MCU film

I liked what Woody Harris said about this. From what I remember its basically the british actors (regardless of race) comes from a strong theatre culture so theres a large pool of british actors in Hollywood that might have ranges American Actors might not have. Shakespeare n s***

And with black american actors specifically, it might be even more difficult to even access the schools that could enhance their theatre presence.

Chadwick went the UK to study acting under a program Denzel funded.

So yea I think this is why Coogler and most film makers go this route

Fantastic casting. Always enjoyed watching David’s journey after leaving Industry as early as he did. Been on a great run both in mainstream and indies since.

People keep talking about height or bulking up, but pretty sure the whole point of the coming of age story will be that these doubts will arise in the film itself once a 20's aged T'Challa II makes his existence known to Wakanda. He'll look young, weaker and need to earn the mantle as King for both audiences and Wakanda.

Coogler got Basset a near-Oscar win for an MCU performance and is coming off of Sinners with Denzel in one of his last roles. He knows David is the right guy and this will make for a great story. Fan-castings rarely live up. This is actually interesting.
