They brainwash us law students into simping for federalsim too

They act like centralism = fascism when most countries in the world are centralist except USA, India and Brazil (three countries much huger than f***ing Germany, which is smaller than South Dakota I believe)

As an ETHIOPIANIST you know how I feel about f*deralism

Nah trust me, these kaks aint making kids, they need as many workers as possible. Low-key a reason for letting in all the refugees.

BTW, I visited my hometown (small town) and they still had the refugees jammed into the school gym. It's been 7 years and they couldn't find anything else or build something? Now it's Ukrainian refugees

It's also because of Germany's insane federal system that the USA commanded us to get after WW2 because they were scared of a new Nazi Germany.

Germany has like 15 train systems for each region, some of em run their stuff well, some don't. Germans f***ing love federalism. In the early days of the pandemic, every city-doctor (an official) could decide on their own how to react to the virus. Mine was saying coronavirus is just a flu. The central government didn't even do s*** for a few months because they didn't have the power to do so.

tbf not denying anything you're saying but it's largely the same in the US obviously, LIRR for Long Island/NYC is separate from Metro North from Amtrak, etc. and these are all similarly weird half public/half private partnerships. Even with that ive had better experiences with public transit here - again not saying much. Most of the issues i found w/ the german trains are like they are late every other hour in every other region of i was in. Like when i was in Baden-Württemberg there legit was never a single train that was on time, some of them had delays of 40 minutes and i was like how tf are these things even running, 40 minute delay is like an airport delay not a public transit one

Deutsche Bahn got privatized in the 1990s and has been running like s*** ever since. 40 minutes too late is totally normal here, even on the high-speed trains. The main reason is that they are too stingy to build new train tracks for cargo trains, so they try to pack cargo and passenger trains onto the same rails. Since Germany exports so much s***, the cargo trains are packed all the time. In doubt, they will let the passenger trains wait so the cargo trains can go ahead.

german infrastructure being so bad for like everything minus roads will never not be a culture shock to me given how the country is often presented abroad massive european moment
