Alright so let's talk about Prodigy rip that's what Big wanted to be

BIG was one of the most unique rappers of all time, bro. Stop acting like he wanted to be someone else. It's been 22 years since his death and we had nobody sounding or flowing like him. The GOAT of NY discussion will always be between BIG, Nas and Hov for me. The rest comes after.

Tbh people still bite BIG's rhymes to this day.

That's how far ahead of his time he was. The kind of talent you see once in a lifetime.

BIG's music sounds so fresh even in this era. It's such a shame that he died that early because he had the swag and style that dominates this current era even before it became a thing. It's incredible how timeless his music is. He would've had an incredible career path, probably reinventing himself multiple times through different eras with multiple classics adding to the two he already got.

He made the most complex rhyme schemes and flows sound easy bc he was so natural with it. He was born for this s***.

As opposed to many other rappers, his punchlines never sounded forced. He had the whole cadence and timing thing on lock.

I always felt like if BIG didn't choose to be a rapper he could've been successful as a comedian or an author. His quick wit was amazing and his storytelling thrilling.

I've seen so many top tier rappers praising his artistry on Life After Death. They keep saying that BIG really expanded the possibilities of being a rapper on that one. Plus how wise he was for a 24 year old.

Exactly, whos better isn’t defined only by your lyrics.

Flow, Cadence, delivery, consistency, discog, voice etc.

These niggas not better than Biggie bro.

RTD arguably the greatest hip-hop album or all time.

You could argue that Jada is a better lyricist than Biggie but Ghost aint it.

  • Dec 4, 2019

Here we have Roc Marciano emulating Biggie's style and even giving it away by calling himself the skinny BIG.

Classic track but just goes to show how well BIG's music has aged.

Here's Juelz Santana calling Life After Death the GOAT hip hop album:

Puffy prefers it over Ready to Die:

Drake had it in his top 5 albums too. It's just interesting bc Ready to Die is seen as the better album but ppl who actually make hip hop music are more impressed by Life After Death.

Nas: “It was ahead of its time. He rapped from a perspective of someone who lived a full life. He rapped from a perspective of someone looking ahead, someone who was looking to move on from one phase to another. It was a double album which was a bold move. It also showed that he was an artist of substance, so much that one album would not be enough. He’s honestly one of the greatest to ever do it.”

Raekwon: “I miss Big. When he was here, he was a dope artist. He definitely was influential, too. That album right there had a lot of wordplay, a lot of selections of music that made everybody feel good about it. Big gave you every side of who he was on his albums. And, to me, that’s what a body of work represents. It went on to move a lot of units, too, because of the quality of it. Just a dope album.”

Roc Marciano: “That’s B.I.G. at his best. He’s more calm, and more confident than on Ready To Die. I love Ready To Die too, but he did what Nas had done with Illmatic. What Nas had done with Illmatic, he did that for the 2000s. Like after that, this is gonna be the future. There’s gonna be dudes rapping at the highest level possible, and rapping over all kinds of production though.

“He was like, ‘I’m gonna kill a joint with Bone Thugs. I’m gonna kill some s*** with R. Kelly.’ It’s just sophisticated, next level. The s*** RZA did, Havoc came through. And then you had those other sexy tracks with it. It gave you everything you need in an album. I feel like that’s something I have to conquer next. I need to make a Life After Death, or more well-rounded than that, if it’s possible. ‘Sky’s The Limit,’ everything that was on that s***. B.I.G. was golden.”

Hell yes I remember listening to that third verse on Niggas Bleed when I was a youngin and I was going wild like "WHAT THE F WAS THAT???" I never heard someone flow like that. There's such a complexity in his schemes and yet everything comes off so smooth and natural.

People need to stop comparing rappers to BIG like that. That dude's flow was something else, really. One of the most unique artists of all time. It's magical stuff Personally, I'd say BIG had the greatest flow of all time. I think him and Nas at his best were the most complete rappers of all time.

KTT the only place where you find this level of disrespect towards Biggie.

Im convinced 80% of KTT stan artists that didn't get their praise or are "lowkey" just to appear cool. 80% of y'all never listened to a Biggie album and it shows.

It's really not that interesting. Ready to die had way more impact and influence so it's always going to be considered better than life after death because of what it did for rap. But life after death as an album is significantly better in every way.

Im 22 i was born the same year Biggie died.

Imo if you're born in the 90's and claim to be a fan of hip-hop and you dont know Biggie's discog i automatically assume you recently got into hip-hop. Disrespecting Biggie is some Lil Yachty s*** and we don't condone it.
