I'd add that the disconnect Detroit rappers seem to have from motown's music is astonishing
You'd think at least one of them would actually use the city's music history or even the industrial aspect of it to make music... Idk
Big Sean got legendary singer/songwriter stevie wonder to talk on the album...
Detroit has a lot of different sounds. Motown is just one of them. Sean used some Ghettotech influence on here (The Baddest) and the current wave of Detroit rappers have a lot of Chedda Boyz/Blade Icewood influence
