Well CBS said their new rule is from now on all their shows has to be 50% POC.

Which I don’t necessarily agree with. Being that POC isn’t just black, it’s also Asian, Latinos etc.

So to me it’s weird how the rule is: white ppl is 50%, and the rest of y’all split the other 50%

I’m not sure how casting is with other networks cus only other reality show I watch is The Challenge but they’ve been making their casting really diverse and colorful too.

I could see Latinos and Asians and other minorities following the formula.

But white folks shouldn’t use this as an excuse to start a race war, they’ve always been the dominant majority for every season. Even this season because there was 8 white ppl casted.

The cookout didn’t run with this plan to start a race war, it was a means of “we gotta look out for each other because no one else will” so hopefully future HG doesn’t twist that into some bullshit

after how Jack was evicted and Aaryn was evicted when Julie Chen pulled the receipts for their racist/homophobic remarks, i think people are much more aware of how to act and no act now. it's just a shame that it's a reflection of how they carry themselves in the real world too.

I would say yes and no. Thing is, after a while people get so use to the cameras they forget they are there filming them, and their true self comes out.

Even Amanda on BB15 pretended to be against racism at first and called out Aaryn, just to turn around and be racist herself 🤦🏽‍♂️

100% dx i don't know the general consensus, but i've gather from Reddit that America does not like Derek F lmao. & i definitely feel the same, i would have loved for dx to make it further in the show. i have a feeling they didn't have a jury battle back so that the cookout could make it to final 6.

tbh i've never watched Survivor or The Challenge but i should definitely check it out. i like this bb cast a lot better than some of the recent past seasons, tho every season has its problems

Yeah I think they ain’t have a battle back due to that and also Covid. Prolly didn’t wanna risk bringing them back into the BB bubble for liability reasons.

I know for sure they had a triple eviction planned originally which would of took them from 7 HG to final 4. But they changed it to give the Cookout a week together of just the 6 of them to celebrate. So instead they did the 2 back to back doubles.

But yeah I f*** wit the challenge, they cast a lot of people from BB and survivor. But survivor on the other hand I have a hard time getting into

I really don’t understand this logic. Shouldnt casting be more representative of real American society . It makes sense that a cast should be ~ 60% white, 10-20ish percent black and the rest accordingly. My whole gripe is the ‘stereotypes’ of black people they’ve casted(for the most part) up until recently. With black women it’s been decent but honestly they did such a poor job with black male casting until this season. They’d always cast a black man who clearly knew nothing about the show/obv wouldn’t go far, and honestly half the seasons didn’t even have a black man in the cast

X is the perfect first black winner.
High IQ, respectful and respectable af, high discipline, competent at physical and mental competitions, good knowledge of the game and strategy.

I could see him going far in 8/10 seasons he plays even without a cookout-esque ‘mission’.

You don’t watch big brother Africa and expect half the cast to be white or BB Brazil and expect a bunch of Asians etc. America is predominately white and BBUS is the American version of the show. BB has always been a ‘social experiment’ and therefore should be a microcosm of the society at large.

There’s been more male than female winners of BB, making a cast 70% women because of that just wouldn’t make sense either.

As I said earlier BB is a social experiment and therefore by nature is/should be a microcosm of the society it represents. They should do a decent job of representing the target audience/society somewhat accurately. This is done through factors like region, race, gender.
