How would Beyonce feel if she didn't get nominated those 46 times

    Pretty differently I imagine

Ones her husband and the other was a friend of hers.... Ofcourse they gonna hype her up

People constantly talk her up like she's incredible but she's not even the best female artist of her own era, and has released so many forgettable albums.

Yet you’re mad that her predecessors (previous legends), industry peers (other artists/creatives and media alike give her the flowers that she deserves.

(First 15 seconds of this video)

    8:35

Her presence alone commands respect, she’s loved and respected by everyone that matters ..one of the most decorated artist of all time and still topping charts 20+ years in this mf.. You not liking her won’t change this!

Probably the same way that those ppl who’ve never received a nomination feel when they hear decorated artist like Weeknd crying on twitter about being snubbed. Whatever she feels about her failures, she won’t throw a pity party about it 🙃

The Weeknd has every right though. He was pretty much a lock to win an award but because of politics he wasn't even nominated. Who wouldn't be annoyed if you put in the work to make a classic album only to be snubbed because your performing at the Super Bowl instead?

    Nah

All these artists have egos dude . Bigger the artist the bigger the ego usually

If she was getting snubbed a lot of people including her camp would be pissed. Rightfully so if she'd put out a great album and song that was one of the biggest of the year

    But she lost 46

Bey def got snubbed a few times
But most of these snubs is industry artists getting screwed over by an industry they trusted
They never win rightfully so they should expect to lose the same way
How many of beyoncés wins were a snub for some other artist?

Same with the weeknd how many awards has he won thanks to industry politics... Now he's losing because of industry politics

The institutions they trust in the first place to get them to certain career heights disposes of them as it may please and that's the true source of outrage imo...

It's crazy that you got publications who've been covering the Grammy's as long as they been around, industry people, who said this is one of the biggest most inexplicable snubs in Grammy history but Mr Ktt2 user thinks it's nothing

The Weeknd has every right though. He was pretty much a lock to win an award but because of politics he wasn't even nominated. Who wouldn't be annoyed if you put in the work to make a classic album only to be snubbed because your performing at the Super Bowl instead?

“ Grammy chief Harvey Mason, jr., than he had given previously, including when he was questioned extensively by Variety on the matter on Monday.

He wrote, “We understand that The Weeknd is disappointed at not being nominated,” he continues. “I was surprised and can empathize with what he’s feeling. His music this year was excellent, and his contributions to the music community and broader world are worthy of everyone’s admiration. We were thrilled when we found out he would be performing at the upcoming Super Bowl and we would have loved to have him also perform on the Grammy stage the weekend before.

“Unfortunately, every year, there are fewer nominations than the number of deserving artists. But as the only peer-voted music award, we will continue to recognize and celebrate excellence in music while shining a light on the many amazing artists that make up our global community. To be clear, voting in all categories ended well before The Weeknd’s performance at the Super Bowl was announced, so in no way could it have affected the nomination process.”

“The process is there so we can continue to monitor excellence. I was in the “core room” this year which decides the Big Four and I observed, and the people that were in it are music professionals — they are excellent, at the top of their craft in songwriting and producing, and there are a lot of artists. They were critically listening to every song that came across their desks — or virtual desks — so I don’t think it shows a flaw in the process.”

if, from Weeknd’s words, the Grammys “remains corrupt” and the above response from the Grammys chief is a crock of s***, then why does he still feel entitled to continue to feel “owed” something. It’s clear that the pretense that he puts up says, that the Grammys been a scam, if that’s the case why all the energy as if you’re still not the most successful and decorated artist that released this era. Surely, a system you already know is corrupt won’t conjure such vitriol reactions when you don’t get the attention you think you received. By all means get ya s*** off, but don’t play it off on no ‘Grammys have always been this way’ chit. jus make you sound whiny.

I don't feel like wasting my energy and typing a long reply so here's my thoughts summed up

    • That was a crock of s***

    • Even though its corrupt it's still a powerful institution so it is pretty baffling they made this decision despite the quality of After Hours

    • Abel deserves his grammy for this one. He made a classic and should be as loud as possible about this. Grammy's have f***ed up a lot in the past but this is probably their biggest in a while.

I can guarantee you Beyonce would NOT be on social media melting down 2-3 times within a 12 hour period. I don’t know any artist besides Nicki, especially an A-Lister going off on some ‘you owe me’ s***. Nigga, this Grammys shot means nothing. the past 5 years taught us that. to continue to pour this much energy into a baseless institution in 2020 comes off from a spoiled entitled point of view. Weeknd ain the first to be blackballed if that’s the case. Nas still waiting for his first Grammy while Weeknd was decorated with 3 his lady cycle. Poor Mariah ran the 90s like a workhorse yet came out with 5 Grammys TOTAL. All because of some political bullshit involving tommy mottolla and Sony/Columbia. This beast of a broken system has been eroding for the last 20 years. when was the last time a Black artist making urban music won AOTY.. I’ll wait?!

Jay and Bey are the biggest coons in the industry. They'll support the black community but ensure they don't cross the line as to not piss off Uncle Sam.

Could be both tbh, they're letting him know they don't f with him + they knew the bad publicity they would get by doing this, it made the people talk about the grammys again
