it's been beyoncé > kanye since december 2013, btw
Kanye had a great run at the top from 2004 to 2013 tho 🙂
When it comes to quality control yes
treating anyone like a god is horrible but her fans literally never acted that way until the beyonce album
its one thing to lose your mind over thriller but drunk in love? lmao
Hypocrisy is hypocrisy !! The beyhive were ALWAYS like this. Very protective, passionate and outspoken. even when Beyonce was getting bullied in 2000/01 for breaking up DC.. Even during the BlackPlanet forums and MySpace days of the late 00s. They went at blogs for potting her against the ameries/rihannas/ciaras.. the Beyhive has been a conglomerate for the better part of 20 years
social media just gave them a more tangible outlet of stanculture. It was the media and casuals that latched onto the bandwagon during self-titled. Even when Beyonce was draggged and mocked for 4lop and everyone wrote her off for being ‘reductive’ the beyhive doubled down with a vengeance when Beyonce proved her detractors wrong in 2013
Regardless, my point still stands. It’s always other stanbases that treat their beloved artists as deities that complain about other stanbases doing the same thing for their own faves. 40+ MJ, Beastles, Elvis, Prince fans are the main perpetrators of this. The irony in this is that THEY started it all!
"Beyoncé has trained her considerable artillery on America’s musical soundscape of the late 20th century" - Vogue
🤔
This is the most over-the-top / pretentious way to just say “80s and 90s inspired album” since that’s the era of popular music that mainstream artists have been drawing from since 2020
definitely not especially when all of beyoncé’s black capitalist music after lemonade has been iffy
Everything after Lemonade were one-offs, soundtrack compilations and passion projects. Kanye’s been releasing full’fledged blockbuster era LPs that were seen as ‘iffy’
Beyoncé’s last solo studio album was in 2016 in Lemonade.
The part that I think is funny is that some Beyoncè stans legit believe she's the first artist in history to do the surprise release thing and the visual album thing. Like artists have BEEN doing that lol. Where do they think she got the inspiration from?
“she's the first artist in history to do the surprise release thing and the visual album

I don’t believe you

Many Beyoncè stans have said that in the past and they're saying that now. There was a tweet of a Beyoncè stan saying that which went viral but they got dragged in the quote replies and now they've locked their account. I would have posted it lol.

So you’re basically telling you have no evidence or source for this anecdotal tweet/quote .. Beyonce already did the video anthropology thing in 2007 w/bday where she had visuals for virtually every song. 2013 was jus a refined version of it. I never seen/heard anyone stan, casual consumer or hater make the claim that Beyonce was the first/inventor of surprise drops/visual albums.. ever. That’s like MJ Stan’s saying that he created the ‘moonwalk’ no one everrr said that, bruh.

You haven't seen it, but I have.
I don't wanna be a hater but I can't help but feel like "act i: RENAISSANCE" is the most predictable/boring title

Nah it is tbh.

Doesn't matter as long as the music is fire.

For sure. I just thought her and her team could come up with something way better on that front lol.
How is Beyoncé being compared to Ye lmfao. Like ya really find new ways to eat him up.
Anyway as far as the culture goes Beyonce was the first major artist to do that surprise drop s*** and niggas been following suit since. Except ironically the nigga that moves to the best of his own drum Ye and Drake too. I could be wrong tho but she the first one that comes to mind. Don’t know or care about other genres.

Probably named it that because of the content of the album and because it has more than one part.
You haven't seen it, but I have.
I feel like you lying cause it fits the narrative of ‘bruh the Beyhive so delusional they said xyz’ when you know u jus made that up. There’s other credible examples of Beyhive going overboard with their stanning (like most bases do) to where u don’t have to pull s*** out of thin air

I wonder if they know Holy Roman means German

She definitely was the first big artist to do it
It was practically impossible before the days of primarily digital distribution of music as well
