Beyoncé is amazing but the new school is going hard too

ravyn lanae, kelela, fka twigs, blood orange, sza, rosalia, moses sumney, toro y moi, frank ocean, sudan archives

the fact she just dropped an album that IMO is right right right up there with all these peoples upper tier stuff though

I’d consider none of them new school lol.

Ravyn lanae, kelela, sza and Sudan only have 1 album out and it dropped within the last 5 years

If they’re not new school then who is, people with negative one album? Dumbass

    Why are you so angry.

SZA dropped Z in 2014 and you mentioned Frank who dropped his debut in 2012
    Ravyn dropped in 2016

And you really mentioned blood orange and twigs?

I do agree that those 2010s generation artists are great.

are you 15 years old? Beyoncé is from the 90s, artists from this past decade are new school in comparison

This is such an old and tired narrative. There’s loads of great music out there from younger artists, all you gotta do is look for it

we shouldn’t have to look for it. that’s one of the problems with music today. in previous decades, you didn’t have to go out of your way to discover great music. it was always there in the mainstream

Even their eps are from the 2010s though

imo 90s and 2000s artists are old

    2010s-2020s is new

If you just count 2020s and later that’s basically nobody so there’s not much discussion if you make it that narrow

Yes because the music industry is drastically different today than in previous decades

Streaming has opened the floodgates for consumers to literally discover any artist in the world for one flat rate per month and people like you are complaining because it’s not being force fed down your mouth in the mainstream.

There’s great popular artists today, there’s various great underground scenes, and there’s multitudes of great artists that exist somewhere in between those two extremes.

It’s all out there, If people care enough to complain about it then they care enough to find it.

Every artist and every sound is a only a few clicks away.

bro you’re being so obtuse that it’s funny to me. hell yeah the music industry is drastically different today than it was in the 90’s when artists like Beyoncé first came out

there is no shortage of great music by artists out here today but there is a shortage when it comes to what’s being promoted and that’s just facts. niggas like you just come on here to argue lmao

i never understood why people always say "bro X is still good u just gotta look for it" like yeah, no s*** there's going to be f***ing good stuff if you look hard enough, the point is that the music in the public eye + mainstream from the more well known acts haven't been very up to par

same exact rhetoric with video games nowadays too
