I think she made it perfectly clear to stop chasing hits after firing her dad. It seems like people have already forgotten with the way she operates and handles her career nowadays, but she was putting in WORK during the 00s, to a point where she probably couldn’t handle it anymore. Instead of prioritizing commercial success, parting ways with Matthew allowed her to lean more into her own artistic direction and it‘s probably the best decision she did in her career.
