They started releasing projects one year apart

Future dropped Dirty Sprite before Thug found a definitive sound w/ projects like icfn2, 3 & 1017 thug. Sure they released music at the time but once Future’s sound took off it pushed him to the top.

    Gucci Mane

Wop’s a founding father too but Future’s pre-honest era run needs to be given more flowers.

When’s the last time someone besides Roddy said Future inspired them or influenced them to do music

And when Roddy mentioned him, he mentioned him and Jeff 😂

Future ain’t break no FBG artists and he isn’t influencing a generation like Thug

for sure, but also I mean they share similarities too, and have styles that overlap a bit, so it's not like they're really separate enough to completely say one doesn't involve the other

Honestly RHQ, is this generations Mase.

All the people wanted was more Rich Gang

He wanted to give us “Old Quan”

Nigga we don’t want “Old Quan” we want Rich Gang

    Simple supply and demand

Give the consumer what they want

thug the better artist by a long shot

  • Apr 6, 2021

Young Thug is a better artist than Future in every conceivable way.

Folks forget that before Thug it was Future taking his music to NY and getting the hate cause nobody knew what he was saying, and they hated all the adlibs, and the style, they were mad when he was on the hottest rapper lists but a few years later everyone was hopping onto that same style and blowing up off it. People still relevant from it today too. Durk’s biggest hit at the time was a Future rip.

Thug’s up there though, he just came after Future & theres nothin wrong with it.

Just because his first solo mixtape was a year before Thug's doesn't mean what you quoted is wrong in terms of Future's 2003-2009 songs, ghostwriting, features & bts work that was highly influentual in ATL to wannabe rappers like Thug

I would argue Thug played a critical role in the Durk rebrand.

    Durk ran to Atlanta
Grew Locs (died then blonde lol)

Starting hanging around the slimes and before you know it he on tracks singing and moaning with the flow

I had a feeling I knew future was active before that but I had trouble finding the info on that today, its been some years since I looked at it tbh
