i don’t agree with sales arguments but who’s to say all those people have s*** music taste and don’t know what they’re listening to? because essentially that’s what dismissing popularity is. trend following based in 0 thinking into the music they’re actually consuming

most artists who get a lot of plays are major label artists

that means only those wiith enough funding to get radio play/promotion are put on

its not about people listening to the music and liking it its simply a matter of it being presented to people in the first place
