Made a post in the Sony thread about this but I hate adaptive triggers on the Dualsense 5. Has made playing pretty much every game I tried it on worse, I don't see the point of making buttons feel like they're harder to press. Feels gimmicky tbh and I never use it, the setting is turned off on my PS5

This got me thinking - are there any games that actually use this feature well? And what are some examples of games using extra controller features in a cool way?

I liked how Spiderman 2 used the controller speaker. Web sounds, growls when you use symbiote abilities, the sound of crates when you're close

Borderlands 2 changing the light on the controller depending on the element of the weapon you're using (Orange for fire, green for corrosive etc) is a nice touch

Played on PS4, not sure if PS5 has the same feature and never played TLOU2 yet but TLOU making you shake the controller to get your flashlight working was cool

    Mechanical face buttons

Oh this just dual sense lol

  • Placing the PS4 controller on my balls and letting them vibrate

  • Returnal used the adaptive triggers and hd rumble really well tbh inverting the trigger functions made more sense for my playstyle though

didnt read but used a battle beaver

    and currently using a gamesir.

paddle on the back of the controllers and mouse click triggers

can also overclock the controllers to 1000hz

Saros and Returnal feel like the two games that most take advantage of the dualsense.

    Yep

those are the games that most impress me with dualsense features

Gyro aim is the best thing to happen to controller aim and it's still so underutilized.

Astrobiology and Returnal/Saros are the only games that fully utilize the features. I do love when games have rain come through the haptics though

What does it do in RE? I got 2, 4, 7 and 8, do any of them have the feature?

Everybody saying Returnal ITT, I got it off the catalogue a while back and been thinking of dropping Borderlands 2 for something shorter/more linear

  • Jun 27

i love controller speakers a lot

it's not much but the wind blowing in Ghost of Tsushima and the Focus scan sound in Horizon Zero Dawn

I mean they’re all exactly what you think they would be but the tension and the trigger discipline when you’re picking your shots really does it for me
