Why are you on my ass all the time lol there's literally a thread about clogging toilets in the top threads right now.

Everybody knows this is one of the best straight music related threads on the site, if not the best.

I've had multiple career changes in the last year (went from running my own company to film set production to longshoring while still running my company) and haven't been able to focus on this thread nearly as much as I could for 1955-1974. I could listen to like 15 albums per day at work when it was just my own company.

Were just coming up on a full year for 1975 but I'm trying to wrap it up this weekend.

If anything my Best Films Of Each Year thread is a long running joke since I started in 1922 and am still on 1945 almost nobody gives a f*** about that primordial dust

This thread is a gold mine though and countless posters have told me so. Could get a good ass education on the early rock and roll era if you went through every page.

Yeah going year by year in real time was inevitable lol. The 50s was only taking like 2-3 months per year cause there wasnt an insane amount of interesting stuff.

By the mid 60s it was starting to take like 6 months cause there was such a sharp increase of amazing artists blowing up.

By the 70s it was starting to take like 8-9 months cause there were so many interesting subgenres branching off subgenres.

Now even more so plus I had way less time to put respectful marination time on everything.

Since I was a teenager I like to listen to an album at least 20 or 30 times and live with it for a good while before I consider it properly marinated on. You're never going to be able to wrap your head around an album on the first listen or two but and try to declare which songs are the best. Obviously I don't have time for that but I still like to listen to new stuff at least four or five times.

Who By Numbers took forever to grow on me but it did eventually and yeah this is my favourite.

album is solid but missing some element their last couple albums had that I cant quite pin down. bass not prominent enough in the mix or something.

Never really connected with Quadrophenia, so it was an improvement for me.
