I’ve been listening to his incredible early 70’s singer/songwriter stuff, but I’m just realizing he’s the guy who wrote the song that My Name Is samples.

I don’t remember, but he’s the way cooler version of Joel/Elton. He does some incredible things with his voice on that 74 album.

It’s an outlaw country cult classic. Went under the radar for many years. Still kind of is.

These are great. I love how he’s mixing his vocals. Reminds me of Elliott Smith honestly.

great Brazilian soul album. its "samba soul" i guess but occasionally just sounds like straight up American soul music sung in Portuguese

One of my favorite things about doing this is sort of tracing the waves of British pop/rock music. How the 60’s psych/baroque stuff naturally becomes glam in the 70’s, and eventually turns into New Wave by the end of the decade as it transitions into the 80’s.

Tony Visconti produced this Sparks album. Really fun.

This is all pretty much just the bubblegum variety of glam, but I find it pretty pleasant. There’s something about 50’s nostalgia in 70’s music that is incredibly charming.
