Arzachel s/t (1969)
Khan - Space Shanty (1972)
Gong - Flying Teapot (1973)
Gong - Angel's Egg (1973)
Gong - You (1974)
Steve Hillage - Fish Rising (1975)
thats an amazing run from Hillage and it looks like his 1976-1979 solo albums are regarded pretty highly too. havent heard yet
I remember Flying Teapot being one of the rare albums in that style I found exciting. Big fan of that when I was younger. Not sure if I have the patience for it now.
@Elric Did you post this for 1970?

I dug these two from that record

I used to never connect with Young Americans, but it’s growing on me
!https://youtube.com/watch?v=K-N_xAOOn2w&si=Gd4_rCdOTT-HOsdFyeah crazy that even one of his weakest albums of the decade still has highs like that, title track and Fame
I’m no fan of the Eagles, but I’ve always had a soft spot for this song.

@Elric Have you ever heard of these guys? Their album from 74 is very good and produced by George Martin, so I figured I’d try their 75 record and while not as good, it has its moments. They’re an interesting mix of Prog, Folk Rock, Baroque Pop, and Music Hall.

Hoping you feel better. Schoolboys in Disgrace is really fun. First Time We Fall in Love is a huge highlight. I just wish the album had a better cover.

I think he’s going for just a general 50’s style vocalist along the lines of Elvis, but not meant to be him specifically.

idk I feel the first voice is pretty close to '56-'57 Elvis and the second falsetto voice is pretty close to Sun Records ballad Elvis

The middle section is definitely going for a Beach Boys thing.
