yup and of course the south american rock goat debuted as well
they missed out on 1972 but Som Imaginario is also good from brazil, i wasnt on them yet but they got albums in 1970, 1971 and 1973
started more psych/tropicalia and became more prog towards the end but still with some samba/MPB elements in there. backed up Milton Nascimento on occasion and their keyboardist was one of his main collaborators so its not like they were all full-on rockers. 1973 album is very solid ill post some next year
I thought your goat was spinetta?

nope no disrespect to Spinetta but Charly Garcia discog is kinda washing him for me honestly. got really into Spinetta a few years ago but he never approached top 30ish all time favorite level like Charly does now. Gustavo Cerati is my 2nd favorite but doesnt come around til 1984
but to be fair i havent heard all the Spinetta. havent heard anything past late 70s and apparently he has some great stuff including a jazz rock band Spinetta Jade. Spinetta was Charly's OG but for some reason Charly is still more of the "father of argentine rock" according to wiki at least. maybe cuz he was more of a star i and his lyrics are maybe more specific to argentina while Spinetta seems a bit more poetic/esoteric? (wild guess) seems like theyre the twin OGs to me though
Charly had a P-Funk or Zappa like crazy run of like a dozen 9+/10 albums within a 10-15 year period

yup, posted some of the Sui Generis songs that left you only slightly whelmed apparently. still a solid album worth digesting and a classic but not near my favorite stuff from him

someone else just posted a song from the album again 30 minutes ago though itt :epic:

oh s*** apparently this 1972 Rita Lee album is actually the last Os Mutantes classic lineup album
the last time she worked with Sergio Dias and Arnaldo Baptista
they intended for it to be a Mutantes album but label wouldnt do 2 Mutantes albums in 1972. so they had Rita do all the vocals instead and put it out as her 2nd solo album. this song is solid, i gotta peep album

nice to find out theres another Mutantes album as I'm checking out the later ones i hadnt got to

is this a remake of an earlier tune or his only song with that wordless hook?
