This is nice. I’m not uncomfortable on behalf of some hypothetical Native American. It’s not like the song pushes a racist perspective. You look at all the comments on the video and there’s no negativity—even from people who claim to be native themselves. No one seems to have the issue you’re having.

Its not that it's offensive it's that it just sounds f***ing ridiculous to be singing that earnestly from that perspective. I don't care what YouTube thinks.

It sounds like a ton of other Elton songs from around then. I don’t get the problem. It has a nice build and the final few minutes are especially pleasant.

I guess. I don’t really pay too much attention to lyrics unless they’re distractingly awful and I didn’t find them that bad. I get where you’re coming from tho now.

Yeah the arrangement and everything else is fine but they deliver such silly lyrics with such a straight face totally ruined the run of classic songs on side 1
