Really interesting, dense arrangement too

Yeah well give my 50s playlists a shot. You might have heard the wrong versions of some of it plus it's interesting to hear it all within the context of the time it came out.

Allahu Rockbar I'm here to guide you
I pick Pretty Good by John Prine of his 1971 self titled Album
Love this song. Listen to it at least twice a day. Level of songwriting that can bring peace to middle east. Plus the Guitar solo is so simple but soulful
This song checks every box for me

! … Moonlight makes me dizzy
Sunlight makes me clean
Your light is the sweetest thing
That this boy has ever seen
… I heard Allah and Buddha were singing at the Savior's feast
And up in the sky an Arabian rabbi
Fed Quaker Oats to a priest
Pretty good, not bad, they can't complain
'Cause actually all them gods are just about the same
Pretty good, not bad, I can't complain
'Cause actually everything is just about the same
Here is a bonus clip that really digs in the solo 😂

No big noticeable standouts on those Caravan or Moody Blues albums @RVI
maybe they'll grow
Pinders big finale has some epic moments but he doesn't stick the landing unfortunately. Just sounds like some prog pomposity.

couldnt even connect with their most whimsical song ever, Golf Girl eh
and yeah that Moodies album was decent but a bit mid to me with The Story in Your Eyes as the highlight. similar story with Seventh Sojourn. i should revisit both of those though, didnt give them nearly as many listens as the previous 5

Not immediately no but i did appreciate how much the album sounds like some proto solo Eno
HCTWJ/TTM type ditties
10/10 song

Don’t know if you’ve seen Casino, but it’s so amazingly used in that. One of my favorite sequences Scorsese has ever filmed. I revisited the album though and it’s pretty disappointing. I like a lot of Nilsson’s work from before this and most of the material on the record is solid, but it doesn’t match the weight that song suggests will surround it. Placing the Coconut song after it is insanity.

Nah I haven't seen. Might have to add to my list
Agreed about the album being a bit uneven, some other really good songs for sure but coconut sucks ass. Aerial ballet is my favorite of his

You just don't understand the physics involved with placing a lime within a coconut

His best album is his covers record of Randy Newman songs.
