I want Kanye to do a cover of Well Wlel Well
He would knock it out it out of the park.
Imagine.
30s are def the best decade. Old enough that people take you seriously, but still young enough that you can do young people s*** without giving off “How do you do, fellow kids?”/midlife crisis vibes.
Though you were talking about music from the 30's at first
Though you were talking about music from the 30's at first
there was some swing bangers in that decade
@Elric you been marinating on that Hendrix 1970 material for the unfinished 4th studio album?

No but I have been listening to your Grateful Dead playlist. Post the Hendrix one again, I need to download it.
Well alot of people think Elvis peaked when he was 19-20 years old at Sun Records
so you should get on that
Just check out my 1955 playlist to see the clutch of rock and roll classics that came out of nowhere and changed the world
We are currently on Elvis' peak
1968-1973

As obsessed as I am with his 1956 with Scotty Moore
I am finally willing to admit that his 1969 with Chips Moman had just as many stunner songs but with Elvis going much deeper into his performances that ever before

Yeah
thought I explained how they finally really sunk in between that version of Morning Dew and all the gems off the studio albums. Could tell right away Ripple was a classic.

the longest jams palatable to you at all tho? the Dark Star on that playlist is elite tier psych masterwork. i tried to stay away from just packing the playlist with all 20+min jams

My buddy and I had Sun Sessions on repeat for years back when we first dove into Elvis and were the same age he was when he recorded them
tremendous nostalgia for those days. When I moved on to the RCA era and he got backup singers
felt like such a progression lol.

Not as much as Morning Dew but I can dig it when I'm working
Not as much as Morning Dew but I can dig it when I'm working
when it dissolves all the way into near-silence then builds back up

1969-1973 is his artistic peak, but I still prefer his pre-army sound

Slightly off-topic:
1960 has to have, "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" in the running for the best track of that year.
I adore that song, it moves me so much.

Discovered these Shirelle deep cuts for this thread and they are going to go down as all timers for me

Discovered alot of girl group deep cuts that should have been more famous tbh
Heartbreak Hotel, probably
Yeah that atmosphere still unparalleled
there's also the slashing guitar solo onslaught of Hound Dog
Scotty Moore's All Along The Watchtower
