claiming Thats The Way It Is was about as good as From Elvis In Memphis is gonna go down as one of the most baffling opinions ive heard from you. Elvis still in really good form but the schmaltzy production isnt in the same universe as the tracks Chips Moman was coming up with. and the song choice rely too heavily on songs with already classic versions.

they were consistently doing a better Sgt Pepper/Abbey Road than anybody else at the time not the actual Beatles

i guess those from elvis in memphis backing musicians dont hit me as hard as they do you. theyre good for me not life changing
i think he goes good with the schmaltz arrangements too honestly. also a very natural feeling progression tbh
