Another year another embarrassing Doors album
the two actually great songs they recorded weren't even included

didn't realize this came out almost a full year before Bridge
love the bass harmonica
and the cataclysmic cacophony of the outro must've blown people away coming from these lads

kinda, not really. more considered to fit solidly in the symphonic prog style
first 1 maybe 2 albums have some canterbury flavor but beyond that theres basically none. more in the yes, genesis, and renaissance school
Mirage is a certified prog masterpiece

classic and a historical document but not really the perfect way to digest this peak of theirs imo. it was the right curation given the restraints of album side lengths and not wanting to repeat release songs so quickly but very far from the best 75 minutes of that run
Fillmore West 1969 complete recordings might be my #1 release from them and perfect 10/10 for me. and 1969 in general one of my peak years
if i whipped up a quick spotify playlist would you try throwing some of it into the rotation?
(lot of the stuff isnt on youtube or broken up into parts)
