Slow year for big country stars (that's about the time George Jones turned into Donald Duck, right?), but there's "That's How I Got to Memphis" and Jim Ford's debut in 69... watch it as Elric leaves these songs out and give "Sugar, Sugar" the number 1 song of tha year.
Bro's on a boy band payroll.

when u see Merle?
Although Jones had scored several Top 10 hits in 1967 and 1968, "Small Time Laboring Man" was a disappointment, barely making the Top 30. It did not go completely unnoticed, however; in a Rolling Stone interview in 1969, Bob Dylan was asked what he thought was the best song released in the previous year and he replied, "George Jones had one called 'Small Town Laboring Man'."

when u see Merle?
