ranking these velvet chunes impossible
yeah but it does help to be able to split the ones released in '66 vs trying to someone rank all the VU&Nico ones for '67

unlike Pet Sounds and Blonde
i think Ill Be Your Mirror my fave
19th Nervous Breakdown wouldve been a top tier song of '65 but considering how fast thing progressed in '66 it sounds weirdly out of place on this playlist. Same with Substitute and Happy Jack although Who werent quite hitting Have You Seen Your Mother levels till '67.

released at the beginning of 1966 anyway so not like its place is among the 1966 stuff more than 1965 stuff anyway. year dividing lines are fake

not when i have all these songs crammed in one playlist. that makes the contrast pretty stark. just goes to show you how big of a shift this year was.

i wonder if recording date would be the true best way to divide things up. especially considering times when the record label people were the ones decided when/if stuff ended up getting released. if only the info was more available for a lot of artists
also ran into this with jazz recently as I realized that so many albums were released a year or two after their recording. or like Tijuana Moods which was released in 1962 but recorded in 1957
