same year as Get Ready and this other classic
!https://youtu.be/bP7bVgDAey4I guess everyone involved were starting to push the envelope further after years of international crossover success. This is the first year their hits stop being so vanilla so that they’re played with other pop artists at that time (The way you do the things you do, I hear a Symphony) and start being more R&B like Otis, Wilson and other new guys
i know i already give Dylan too much credit but HDH straight up said he helped them push the envelope
i didnt even realize until last week. Definitely the year Motown got srs.

He famously said Smokey was the greatest living American poet in '67

just like some more backdrop on what the process was. thinking about it now there probably wasn't much tho lol at least compared to the other two albums.
the process was Cale looking at his organ and Reed looking at his guitar like

Listened to an interview with Bob Dylan from the 60’s about The Beatles and he sounded like a 90’s stoner. I can’t believe I never heard his voice back then before.

you posted River Deep - Mountain High but did you check out the 4 other productions Spector did with Tina that year? the last of his imperial phase before he got bitter about River Deep not going #1 and went into seclusion for years

My top 5 would be Kinks - Face to Face, Beach Boys - Pet Sounds, Stones - Aftermath, Beatles - Revolver, Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
It’s tough to be definite because they’re so hard to compare against each other but I do know that if I contrast front to back enjoyment, Dylan would be behind the other 4; maybe ahead of the Stones.
What about you?
Have you heard the 13th Floor Elevators debut and Roger the Engineer? Contending
