Strictly Hollywood for you too
rest of the world in shambles
I don't think I've even seen anything outside of Hollywood for that year
World War 2 really devastating half of the world

Check out Ornamental Hairpin. Surprisingly delicate and like the only classic I've seen this year that's not Hollywood.
You too @Fella
Hey friend can you rank your favorite films of 1941 for me please
You too @Aruji

Raoul Walsh
Raoul Walsh
Idk I'm usually a Walsh and Flynn fan but They Died With Their Boots On felt like a slog yesterday
What are #14 and #21?
The 47 Ronin and The Tyrannical Father, a Portuguese comedy
To be fair, it seems that the war is raging on still. Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia annexed. Battle of Crete and occupation of France. Eastern Front is the battle of attrition. Japan annexed rest of southeast asia.
And... the day which we live in infamy was like that
Interesting to see French cinema being shadowed by the Germans during the occupation. There are some bastions of countries still producing films during that time like Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Argentina, Mexico, etc

yeah im trying to figure out how Czech and France were still making film after getting invaded
Stormy Waters was great btw thanks for finding that. Apparently it was disritbited under a German production company but Gabin also fought Nazis in North Africa. must have been a tight timeline between them finishing SW and him f***ing off to the States to make a film with Lang and then coming back to fight.
