Arujiok ok I think Joan is a bit too one-note and I find Falconetti's performance a bit overrated tbh. However, it's definitely a great film. Probably my fourth or third favorite Dreyer.
Storm over Asia just has that energy. Probably overrating it but I really enjoyed it a lot.
I used to feel kind of the same way and relegated the film to just a bunch of giant crying face shots but re-watches have proven that Dreyer was stunting on all levels
and there's a lot more disconcerting off-kilter tracking shots and weird camera movements to put you in the same headspace as someone who's about to burn to deathAlso probably extremely Ball-Z to call out religions bullshit so plainly back then and there

I don’t but the watchlist is ever growing and i give more priority to stuff from different decades / directors that i really love and as a completionist want to finish their filmog
I’m working on it, don’t knock my own prefered pace

Un Chien Andalou is a classic, i’m not sure what you’re getting at
