Why is the the bar so low for white women? I'm thinking of people like Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, every popstar from the late 2000s/early 2010s (Pink, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Meghan Trainor). Even within the indie/alternative scene it seems they get praised for the absolute minimum (Lana del Ray, Snail Mail, Phoebe Bridgers). What gives?
