unlike most of todays hacks, he's a young artist who actually has a fresh sound. People hate novelty in our nostalgia infested culture
How is it a “fresh” sound if you admit it’s based/influenced by nostalgia?
nobody's hating on him his music is just everywhere
Niggas be too sensitive over opinions lol specifically Joes. They make it seem like people are attacking him as a person
“VA next, I’m at they neck”
I wanna like Tommy Richman but his lyrics are so just so bad
there is no way that joe budden is hating on somebody more successful than him. i refuse to believe that
Tommy Richman more succesful than Joe Budden?
Joe was in love with him not too long ago. Reddit saying joe found out whose artist he was and turned out to be an opp
Joe Budden stimulus works when he s***s on an artist
You cracked the code, labels def pay controversial figures to slander their artists like this (not saying this is always the case) at an attempt at reverse psychology
fresh is relative. He sounds like a white boy trying to do Funk with an obvious Pharrell influence
Lmao and what’s wrong with that?
Literally like what’s the difference between this guy and Mac Miller? Mac miller gets all the praise no one hates Mac miller…..
But this Tommy Richman guy?
How is it a “fresh” sound if you admit it’s based/influenced by nostalgia?
I didn't admit that. I said people gravitate towards artists with nostalgic sounds and Tommy has a fresh sound unlike most so thats why he gets hate. People are obsessed with hacks like Sabrina Carpenter, Meg the Stallion or Chappell Roan who just copy the past and add nothing new.
He is from VA, so the Pharrell influence is natural. And he’s been making music for like 5 years and I constantly see people say that it’s good music too even though I personally never peeped. So he’s not a plant….so WHY do people hate this guy so much?

tommy is not going to f*** you brother
tommy is not going to f*** you brother
In other words: “I have nothing else to say”
I heard “I Mountain Dew it for ya” and had to do the
Ye would absolutely say that line
“I aint never rep a set baby” coming out of this white boy’s mouth is very disrespectful imo. You not from the hood tommy nor were you forced into these conditions. Of course you never repped a set.
Its a fun lil bop but being a critical thinker is essential to understanding and appreciating art
Such an unnecessary and ignorant line
Tommy is cool man seems to make music to vibe to and finally blew up with a hit like most other artists. Joe just a bitter old man who sits on a pod with 10 other middle aged niggas and gossip for 3 hours in the hope of getting a viral clip like this
Lmao and what’s wrong with that?
nothing wrong with it, I said Fresh is relative. Just bc I think something isnt fresh doesnt mean you dont.

because Mac Miller stayed in his lane and did not encroach upon black art. He was obviously playing homage the entire time Didn’t sound like he was trying to emulate Black people. That’s why he always escapes the culture vulture claims. He started out doing frat boy/stoner rap and did natural progressions into cloud/jazz rap.
For outsiders Respect in hip-hop is earned, not given.

I mean I won’t come off as if I’ve heard all of his music so point me to the songs that don’t fit in this box.. but the most I’ve heard of his sound is that it’s influenced by the Neptunes. And if that’s the case he would fit in that same lane of the artist you mentioned
