Ik some dudes who are super into sports and they still lose money usually from gambling
Its always they win some big bag then immediately waste it on new bets. Jus take ur winnings and quit
Shoulda coulda woulda…
My post just here to serve anyone who thinks about starting gambling, especially after all these places legalizing it and ads on TV show it non stop. Even if you win, you’ll be a loser eventually.
Also take in I haven’t even reached 25 years of age, so that money woulda set me up for life.

Ngl bro, after quitting my job, my mental health went down super fast.
I wasn’t gonna mention this, but d**** got a hold of me too since I won. I’m just glad I put that out real quick before any serious addiction/dependency came around.
Losing it was a blessing and a curse as was winning it
i’ve done this 4 times lmao
i’ve done this 4 times lmao
Damn, what’s the highest u got? And what u start with?
Here’s my story.
One night in April I deposited a $2000 tax return onto Stake and somehow, 8-10 hours later, I was sitting at 500k. I obviously withdrew. The next day I deposited 100k and got to 200k. That’s 600k total. I tried this again but fell down to 400k. I then took a break.
I put around 10k into a tax free investment account and just bought some calls (options).
While my investment account was running, and I was pretty much rich, I deposited another 100k, lost that. At this point I’m sitting at 300k. I tell myself I need to lock in as I just got blessed by a special opportunity that may never happen again. So I do.
I start going on trips, buying expensive clothes and tech, give my parents and sibling money, everyone around me can tell something in my life changed. I couldn’t keep this a secret forever. I enjoy this money for a good month until I get that “itch” again. I deposit another 150k and lose that, next day I deposit 50k also lose that. Now I’m at 50k after giving everything back to the online casino and spending some.
Whilst I’m being a huge idiot and losing money gambling, my investment account shot from 10k to 100k, I think to myself it’s ok, I won’t be mad I lost most of it, as long as I remain above 6 figures. At this point it’s late May and I have 50k in my chequing and 100k in my tax free. That was until recently. The stock I bought call options in, PLUMMETED, turning my 100k into 10k again, and my chequing diminished into 10k also.
I’m now at 20k as of writing this.
I don’t know how to feel. I had everything in the palm of my hand and had the possibility of never working again if I played my “cards” right, no pun intended. Yeah this sucks.
I guess I can’t be too mad as I’m still technically in profit considering I started with $2000. This is something I will probably spend the rest of my life thinking about.
Sorry for the rant and thanks for reading.
you had luck
At least you're not in debt, and you got to enjoy the moment of freedom by spending it to your friends and family. You can definitely still work that 20k correctly with normie investing.
Yes. This. I know people who are in debt bad because of gambling
Hey bro, I was in your position as well. Not as much as you but I built up to around 100k, lost it all. Went through a month. Then I said f*** it, went small with money i didn't care about. $800. I flipped that to 200k in less than a month through sports betting. Then I pulled out and left 20k to gamble for fun with. My advice? Put a small amount in and see if you can make some magic or just quit. Unit sizing is key. Thing is with gambling, you gotta know when to quit. I know the feeling, you make a lot of money really fast and it doesn't register in your head that it's real money. You just keep chasing bigger hits. You gotta let it go
You should've just been a prop trader
You actually have to be good at trading to work at a prop firm
similar story, i made $1m in january and lost most of it by the end of the month
the way i see it everyone who has made a lot of money fast has probably gone through this
you lost it because you didnt value it enough to be smart with the risk because you got it too easily. take it as a life lesson and do better next time and value the money you make
crazy how you only realise how much money it is after you lose it lmao
You still have 20k. A couple turns your way and you’ll be 5x higher than your peak
Why give up now when you’re so close?
Sponsored by Stake. Gamble Responsibly
imagone a Stake ad where the person is just in complete shambles like this
Damn, what’s the highest u got? And what u start with?
the most i made was on some dogecoin knockoff threw in a couple grand would have been 10m+ if i didn't sell so much early for like 40 grand
