The thing is.... Gunn and Safran are late Hamada era director/producers. We never fully severed from that era and in some cases inherited ideas from it. Its a new universe but kept whatever Gunn liked from the old one.

He carried several crew/cast from the final DCEU projects he oversaw since Dec 2022. Mamoa stayed on in a new role, Andy/Hodson/Braham from The Flash, and Blue Beetle was said to continue in some capacity. This on top of his stuff with TSS/Peacemaker
