Releasing mid is a bad look too
They own the rights to the project, audiences gets no say so in the matter
They’ve been releasing mid for a minute & their brand is already in the gutter. Shazam or Blue Beetle won’t change that.
What happened to caring about the creatives vision??
or doesn’t that apply to Adil & Bilall?
Kevin Feige: Heard your s*** was a 2 pack of ass lol, should’ve joined marvel anyway good luck bozo

They did 2 episodes of Ms Marvel (the best ones)
If anything he’s tryna poach them back
I would feel disappointed but as long as I got paid I’m good, especially if the movie didn’t even look good to great to begin with. Her costume quality is telling
That’s you but as a creative not being able to put out something you’ve put a lot of work into is crushing whether you get paid or not.
Like this movie can legally never see the light of day because they’re using it as a tax write off
The internet has broke some of y’all’s brains
‘Fake outrage’ it’s not THAT serious
Your opinion isn’t that definitive that just because you didn’t want to see it, anyone who did is ‘fake outrage’
It was 90+% finished. People love the main actress. People love Michael Keaton. This was Brenden fraisers comeback. The directors/writers and creatives dedicated years of their lives and careers to this. The technical crew’s livelihood depend on jobs like this. People love Barbara Gordon.
The film literally got turned into a tax write off at the last minute
Compound those things with a hatred of CEO’s, corporate higher ups having a say/stifling creativity, growing hatred of the WB big man Zaslav, him being a trumper ETC
And even if it sucked, we get a bunch of s*** movies every year. WB have dropped terrible movies in theatre within the last 12 months. Feels weird, random and pointed to shelve this when it was basically done
I think my brain is working fine bruh
Are they not under new management so they are trying to improve their quality control?
This movies doesn’t fit with their new vision, as long as everyone involved in production was paid what they are owed then there really isn’t anything to get upset over.
Her costume looks CW tier like nothing of value was lost my brotha

They trying to do better it seems
Which in my mind is good, but if they keep releasing ass that’s a different story

You right I’m sure everyone involved in production was hurt, I would be too. They got paid tho so they’ll be Ight

It’s not a ‘their new vision’ circumstance.
It’s ONE 62 year old business executive with 0 creative history, on a whim deciding the film was unreleasable after it was finished. That isn’t a creative vision. One very powerful person saying the movie is bad and getting a tax write off isn’t a creative vision
Miramax executives didn’t feel confident in Reservoir Dogs and wanted to change a lot of stuff but Tarentino didn’t budge. Those executives would’ve loved to scrap it and make it a tax write off. Everyone would’ve still gotten paid but because higher ups didn’t like it, it should’ve been scrapped??
Test screenings (which aren’t entirely reliable, many classics have been s*** on and a lot of trash has been deemed amazing) had Batgirl around the same score as lots of movies that people love and that made a lot of money
You’re right that everyone got paid which is good but devoting years of your life and career to a film that gets shelved and tied up at the last minute because 1 executive didn’t want to drop it, is a terrible precedent

Interesting pod... say people in test screenings compared the film to dark phoenix
Seems like it probably also needed extensive reshoots too

that’s wild that 1 person has that much executive power u would think that typa s*** would get voted on by a board or something
I guess I’m being insensitive to this because it’s batgirl and idc about batgirl, if it was a halo movie I would probably be butt hurt.
But at the same if I peeped this hypothetical halo movie had a similar quality level of production to what I’ve seen of this batgirl movie I might be happy cause I’d rather no mid movie of my fav IP be made then some forced studio bs movie like we get all the time.
It’s yet another comic book movie let’s not pretend we could’ve lost a reservoir dogs tier movie

Dark Phoenix deserved the batgirl treatment
Movie was a waste of time

They getting paid bonuses

I feel you
Yeah you’re 100% right I don’t think anyone thinks it looked THAT good. Like 7/10 seems like best case scenario
Like you with halo, I just kinda am a sucker for Barbara Gordon and would’ve taken anything with her + her costume
it’s also probably gonna be 5/6/10(?) years until we get to this point again for DC movies to make a Batgirl flick, so i kinda just wish it dropped
But yeah
hopefully they crack down on some solid movies after this
I’d much rather be on the side of history that is begging for a product most of us expect to be s*** to see its release just to hate on it, than the side that is shilling for a multi billion dollar company scrapping an artistic endeavor simply bc it isn’t profitable.
