That’s not every Batman story though. There are plenty of Batman comics that are extremely grounded and non-supernatural, that’s why we’ve gotten those portrayals on screen for the last 20 years

2. It had nothing to do with the films quality.

These dude's discog highlights are bad boys for life and directing a couple episodes of snowfall and ms marvel. To be given such an ip as Batgirl and basically casting a nobody its no surprise this didn't test well.

Its this sort of just pandering rush to release bs that is the reason why the current DCEU is so f***ed

I've read conflicting reports. Some are saying it didn't test well and others are saying it was for financial reasons. Point being they did not think they would get their moneys worth in releasing it either in sales or acclaim so why continue to muddy the DC properties

This is simple:

1. The film was already pushed straight-to-streaming to begin with, which was the first sign they had no faith in it (the report was the goal was to “boost subscriber numbers”)

2. They saw initial cuts of the movie and realized it’s pretty bad and that it probably wouldn’t do well on HBO Max either

3. Crunched the numbers and came to the conclusion that straight up cancelling it was the most financially responsible thing to do instead of risking another $100M on a marketing push for a movie that more than likely both wouldn’t do well for itself or for the streaming service it was intended to promote

Bad Boys 3 was a big commercial success and Ms Marvel was solid asf with big critical success

they could've done a nice job with this

Bad boys 3 got people in seats because of the legacy of the first 2 movies. As far as critical acclaim its weak. Ms marvel is basically one step above a disney channel original.
