I know I just wonder if all those characters will time skip or if they will now use an episode or two to fill the gap. I have no idea what they will do and I kind of like it that way

nobrainerdthis episode was cool. I feel like since they are fully committing the time jump, they needed a reset episode to set up new stakes, and these last 3 are gonna feel like regular Barry episodes
I mean I think him having to kill gene while he’s trying to become famous will be them “raising the stakes” and we will see that play out the next couple episodes

I think that's the point of it.
Because before Barry was pretty much affecting awful people in one way or another, but now he's horribly affecting an innocent child.
It's to show that he's well meaning but just an awful f***ing person and it's hard for many to see that.
No redemption for him anymore.
