I am saying if he doesnt come back because he likely wont due to fanbase backlash
RE fanbase constantly ruining great things
we should’ve gotten a season 2 for the show the ending still makes me mad because it literally was all set up

This never needed a sequel but if it does get one I am fine with cregger not returning. Give us an anthology style from different directors same unvierse.
This was nice
Weapons clears tho
Cregger was the man for the job to direct one of the best video game adaptations ever. as a gamer that is a fan of film, we’ve had to deal with bullshit like Doom and Borderlands, which really don’t know how to tell a good story, and instead just bombard you with references to the source material to satisfy your nostalgia. this film, on the other hand, was an original story and really gives you a snapshot into the universe from the perspective of an everyman.
Austin Abrams continues to be a great on-screen presence, and really carried this movie to the finish. the cinematography and lighting in this film were so dark and brooding, really eliciting the feel of the games, and it had some of my favorite shots of any movie this year.
I also just wanted to shoutout how funny this was. the levity really worked in tandem with the horror and made the experience that much more enjoyable. Cregger is now cemented as one of the horror GOATS of the decade. he’s someone whose movies I’ll always make a point to see opening weekend in the theaters.
9/10

I dont even know if there has ever been a good video game movie. So this being the best is kind of a low bar but I do give it props for being a good overall movie not terrible. A bit above mid. Fun popcorn movie.
I dont know about goats of the decade but 3 movies none of them terrible I do give him credit.
He's being coerced by the corporate state into serving their interests and what happens to him is in line with that. He tried to overcome all his personal hangups about growing up along the way but it's bigger than him. Survival turns you into a monster in this country. It makes you less human.
Him being a dummy with good intentions helps sell it narratively tho. He tries to do the right thing
I like this reading of his arc a lot.
Y'all exaggerated about the humor tbh. It did not take me out of the movie whatsoever. Probably the most unrealistic thing was the ladder.

Every single character on screen has a comedic line

I rock with it. There weren't many character either. It was just really the Mc and the umbrella bro who had intentional comedy lines. Everyone else was just geeked out about the end of the world.

Raisie warning is only way I knew it would even be this much of a comedy . It tried to make me laugh more than scare or disturb me
Just watched a 2nd time with friends and yeah man, this is easily the greatest film adaptation of a video game ever. It’s actually wild how much better it was even on the 2nd watch and how much more fun it was. I appreciated Austin’s performance so much more on the 2nd watch too. It literally felt like watching someone play the game for the first time lol

I think PHM is also but not nearly as much as this one. This one is like rapid fire Reddit slop dialogue. PHM atleast does have sincerity behind it and isn’t just cringe Reddit jokes constantly.
Nah man phm and this have the same issue to me

You didn’t cry when they lingered on the typewriter?
Gonna rewatch this and Primetime back to back Saturday night.
The official X**** sponsored double feature is imminent.
About to come out the other side of this emaciated with legs like lead.
