I think I gave it a 3.5 on Letterboxd that was a 4.5 for like the first hour but I wasn’t really vibing with the last half. The pacing shifts pretty dramatically and it felt really rushed. The video game stuff also felt pretty heavy handed at times and I’m just generally not into that sort or s*** in movies.

But I thought the movie was a lot of fun. Great action, great suspense, and great humor that sometimes can feel like it goes overboard though. Austin Abrams is fantastic.

Overall a really solid movie. It was obvious though that all the preproduction and budget approval was done before Weapons became a giant hit because what’s on the screen is definitely not Cregger’s blank check movie so I’m really excited about what comes next from him.
