Can’t be letting gamers make movies, that’s the lesson here. You end up with Cutscene: The Motion Picture
It's actually not his fault. Someone else wrote it. The stuff the gamer did is the interesting part!

Some seriously diminishing returns on the aesthetic aspects that worked for me, that ran out of gas real quick. I found the web series interesting in like, 3-5 minute increments. “Environmental storytelling” run amok
The movie feels like I’m watching a tech demo; like you said, best case scenario for this is a walk-through exhibit. Could be high art, could be an instagram museum, but it can’t be a movie.

Well get ready for the sequel they teased because they are going to keep trying to make it a movie. And honestly, it could be. It's essentially just a haunted house right. I mean the climactic scene is p much just the dinner scene from Texas Chain Saw. Complete with the escape and chase sequence. There are no limits when the only constraint is an aesthetic one
Just watched. Woulda liked more scenes of the main black character going insane in the backrooms. Seems like he got crazy out of nowhere

Totally agree, that’s what stops this movie from being a masterpiece imo. Seeing the decent into madness would have been such an interesting and new vision.
Hopefully he goes deeper into the rabbit hole for the sequel
“I opened the window… I won’t be coming back”
What does this line mean? It’s referencing her opening the window as a kid or is there something else? And how did he know about that?

Yeah it’s a reference to Mary’s troubled upbringing as well as her whole therapy motto of feeling like you are watching life through a window which is heard during her commercial on tv. Clark has a twisted mental breakthrough/breakdown by experiencing the backrooms and then calls Mary telling her he finally accomplished what she’s been trying to help him with in therapy.

Gotcha, I missed the commercial, that makes a lotta sense, thank you

Yeah. Less time on the therapist would have been better
Slippery slope considering Backrooms is not an original concept by A24
https://twitter.com/lmthehomelander/status/2077661236569968890Kane gonna fix A24 being some b****es
There’s something about Chiwetel Ejiofor man. he’s a fantastic actor. This movie was nice
Bro is the hottest free agent in the industry lol. They’re treating him like his Wembenyama
This is dope though, and confirms that Kane already has at least 2-3 new projects already planned
Kane gonna fix A24 being some b****es
Kane made the call
Kane made the call
He probably has an insane amount of leverage over A24 at the moment, he can easily take his ideas to another studio so they definitely weren’t going to risk f***ing up their relationship with him
this was GAS
plot a lil thin but who gives af
really looking forward to what he does next
