The verse wasn’t trash but I guarantee that song sounds better with someone like Wale on it.

Artists frustrate me with unnecessary beat switches, the first beat on the “Casino” is a 20 out of 10 so why f*** up the energy of the song?

Three things i have concern with music these days

1. Traditional music structure
2. Not interviewing artist on how songs came about. for example how did citizen cope end up on the album? I'm interested!
3. Taking too long write an album.

I’ll go deeper on my first point.....

The refrain and the bridge are beautifully articulated on “I am not a lyricist”, but then verse 3 comes in and it kind of throws me off. I thought that was a bad choice.

I think the engineer should played on a 2nd refrain. Then strip the drums out, let the piano breathe, and just let the beat rock during the 2nd bridge.

I think baby keem took way too long to make this project

I think he should've put more effort into this project considering we waited 5 years. 14 songs. Strip the Fat. Add rick rubin or someone who can really dial into the details of each song.

I'd give this album a 5/10.

i mean it’s hard to write an album when your grandma, mom and uncle who raised you dies in between this and your last project on top of the fact he got majorly sick lol. I think it’s a well written project that dives deep into his story, anyone could easily pull out a 1k+ essay on Keem’s life between this album and the documentary if you watch the documentary again and how the songs from the album are interpolated it expands the story of the album even more

Even more reason to put more thought into the project

For 11 songs there are many that feel like duds from a production stand point. I’m not asking for another 808s and heartbreak, that’s not even fair but I would say this is a sophomore slump.

kendrick’s flow on good flirts is so swaggy

I am thoroughly enjoying this project. Everything feels intentional and curated. His ear for musical sounds has heavily improved. I believe that the use of his “regular voice” intertwines with his growth as a rapper and a person. And starting + ending the album with No Security and No Blame was a bold but very poignant choice.

Also this project, The Fall Off, God Does Like Ugly, Let God Sort Em Out…. Since the beef ended, we’ve been receiving super high quality full length albums. It makes me very intrigued to see what Kendrick has to offer whenever his inevitable album releases
