I just think Kendrick is in his own league right now I don’t wanna count anyone out but there’s def a generational gap we gotta address too because if we being real who is his competitors really?

Kendrick is one of one. He's one of those rarities that comes once every blue moon, like an Andre 3000 for example.

The Kendrick Lamar's of the world and the Andre 3000's of the world are more outliers than the norm.

Can y’all just appreciate that drake kendrick and cole are still staying true to what rap really is about at the end of the day

    Cant forget meek and sean

Detroit rappers and baby/Dirk made them level up recently

I mention drake because I truly feel like he still has something to prove and it’s obvious he looks at Kendrick as a peer/competitor Cole as well but not at the level as drake o feel like drake hasn’t put out that body of work that really sets him ahead like Kendrick or showed an example of concise craftsmanship technically yea he’s top 2 but it’s more like
    1.Kendrick
    HUGE GAP

Wish that were true of Drake. Dude wants to make R&B mid. One of the best rappers alive is doing it part time. That's an L for all of us

that’s kinda what makes drake, drake my guy. since 09. You calling it mid is just your opinion but the fact he do a bbking freestyle then hit the clubs with a nice for what is his forte lol

Ngl I feel like Meeks always drops around the same time as Kendrick and gets overshadowed or some s*** lol
Like he doesn’t get completely wiped out the convo but I hear people talk more about singles than complete albums with dude

NWTS is a super cohesive album

Aye I really hope so tbh because again just having only 1 guy in the mainstream currently showcasing artistry Kendrick does is a bit frustrating especially when you know drake can be Capable we already know he’s gonna sell but I’d be nice for him to have his full circle crown moment. Cole lowkey missed on that to me

that’s very true, sean just doesn’t get anyone with his albums tho like they never stick outside his debut and DSP. Championships for meek is a really great album he talks real on there

Jodeci Freestyle would’ve been the perfect intro to NWTS easily. Soulful beat, Some of Drakes best and most confident rapping.
