dance/techno/house influences and those genres have been whitewashed beyond recognition
Wrong
you either white as snow or haven’t paid attention to this music for the last 20+ years
But yea, Beyonce has never been that great of an artist. I always looked at her like the evolution of those Motown manufactured artist from way back when. For her to feel like she's the champion bringing country back to black folks feels very fabricated.
Its ok to eat it up I guess, for entertainment sake, but to take her seriously
i need a new stevie album man he dropped those singles then dipped
Renaissance didn't have substance, it was Beyonces dance album, her pen was never my biggest thing from her but what I most appreciate about this era is the ability to adapt from her
my guy the album had substance regardless of Beyoncé’s “pen” which btw is irrelevant because she don’t even write her own s***. if you’re talking about exclusively lyrical substance then specify that, which btw id agree outside of tracks like break my soul for example, but renaissance has musical substance for days

Because I don’t care about a war?
not caring for every war in the world is fine but stating it so confidently makes you look like a delusional moron who cant get a grip on reality
I just wish you would get unobsessed with being boring and pretty all the time. This forced mystique always reveals itself to be a true lack of understanding and/or a real inability to explain what any of it means in a sensible manner.

It’s strange how quickly mainstream music discourse changes now. Country is gonna be a big flashpoint right now but a couple years ago it was dance, two years before that it was reggaeton, two years before that it was trap.
Country fans (or I should say white country fans) are historically some of the most fickle and petty music listeners (eg. kicking and screaming to get LNX kicked off the charts, I’m pretty sure a country artist got blacklisted for coming out as a vegetarian) so this is gonna get really ugly
When I get done reading her stuff I feel so disappointed in myself

The rest of the world adapts to the new trendy thing because it always equals dollafs
she correct but people still playing pretend
