It does feel tailor made for 92.3 or power 106 and there’s nothing wrong with that but west coast hip hop has been stagnant production wise for about 13 years imo
Turn on those radios before this album and you’d still be hearing Loyal by Chris Brown and that Big Bank song left and right
It’s not like they actually play nipsey or remble or greedo, or any underground adjacent artists on the radio here lol, and I feel like those are the only artists pushing the sound further

At the end of the day lowkey him and Drake have been washed off of these recent years, ever since CLB and Mr. Morale tbh
But it’s crazy how we are in Kendrick’s worst artistic era and drakes as well simultaneouslyEhhh. As a Drake fan since 08-09, Iceman was 🔥 One of his best releases over the past few years.
On the flip side, GNX is Kendrick’s worst album. All the releases before that was A1. But then again, I strongly dislike the west coast sound. Hope he doesn’t lean on that s*** going forward
