Cause biden is almost falling off stage if he isnt shaking hbds with ghosts or completely f***ing up the retreat out of afghanistan etc. And in America there are only 2 choices. In this case americas have no other choice, either Biden or Trump. Even tho noone wants them to run and theyve been around since before the dinosaurs existed, they are the only options presented. luckily this will likely be the last election we have to deal with this generation ruling us. did you know trump, clinton and bush were all born in the span of like 2 months in 1946? literal boomers still controlling the world and have been for an unnatural long time. its just that obama snuck in, otherwise it mightve been hillary (1947). and joe is even older than that.

Feel like most people in their hearts are NIMBY and liberals keep adopting policies that encroach on our personal space and start to inconvenience us

It turns people off in the long run. People are becoming more selfish and looking out for themselves which is what conservatism leans more towards.

I think it’s because we’re moving into an era where people are beginning to appreciate social conservatism more and more. I’m seeing more and more people my age getting into their faith. Usually either Christianity or Islam. The left has done a poor job of appealing to this demographic.

One thing I think is weird is the hard anti immigration/anti migrant stance a lot of these types have as they are 1st/2nd gen Americans themselves

well a good swath of the left actually largely looks down upon religion because it directly clashes against their core values such as individualism and obviously secularism, (for the more radical and zealot side of these faiths) they don’t really leave anything that can fill a God-sized hole in their ideologies, that also isn’t even getting into the issues with LGBT+ rights and abortion blah blah blah so it’s a really hard sell appeal wise etc.

they kinda just hope disparaging and s***ting on these faiths are enough to get people to leave but that’s not how things work lol, if you don’t leave anything in place for people to gravitate to for the things that religions offer, they’re just gonna go back

pretty simple, trump as a populist leader to his base stands outside the establishment. his base distrusts the federal government and they see him as a self-made tycoon (we know he is not) and they project values of productivity and self-reliance on Trump. it also helps that he is a charismatic figure aka the twitter goat.

I read a great article years ago that his base has three factions: those who want protection, stability and order (traditional conservatives), those who want disruption and revenge (alt-right, frustrated white people) and those motivated by socio-economic frustration (those OP mentioned, usually minorities looking to move up the food chain)

if you view his entire base as alt-righters you're misunderstanding how much sway he actually has. his presidential campaign was masterful. an outsider basically using twitter to become president is one of the triumphs of modern democracy imo

    F***ing genius s*** bro

He came into a bad economy, he had to choose to either do a lot of stimulus and risk inflation, or do a little stimulus and risk a sluggish economy like Obama did. There was no world where the economy was gonna recover from the pandemic right away. Setting aside the short term his investments in the economy, which Republicans never do, are gonna set us up nicely for the future
